Teachers Bargaining Unit

.

The Teacher Bargaining Unit
represents close to 1,200 accredited secondary Teachers staffing the public high schools in the Halton Region. These seventeen high schools serve the communities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville. Many are deployed in the classroom to provide expertise in the traditional subject areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Business Studies, Art, Music, Languages, Physical Education, and Technical Studies. Others are employed in Guidance, Special Education, Self-Reliant Learning, and Alternative Education programs such as STEP, SCORE, SMART, and the Heritage program. Our ultimate goal is to protect and enhance public education in Ontario

OSSTF provincial regularly released B/BU's (District Bargaining Units Memos) keeping members appraised of the most recent events and press releases as they pertain to our membership.  OSSTF D-20 scrutinises these documents to create a "News" area for our members specifically.

The School Boards Collective Bargaining Act (Bill 122) was introduced by the Ontario Government on October 22, 2013. The Bill proposes a framework for two-tiered bargaining for collective agreements between school boards and the education unions.
OSSTF/FEESO will closely monitor the progress of this Bill through the legislative process and advocate for the interests of all members. Information will be passed on to members through local leaders and on this web page as it becomes available.
